ITL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE INFORMATION

ITL was founded in 1955 to provide an independent source for photometry of lighting fixtures. Our primary business has been and continues to be luminaire distribution photometry. We feel that we are uniquely positioned to give instruction on the generation and use of photometric reports. ITL covers such topics as the fundamentals of vision, basic illumination concepts, photometric laboratory procedures, understanding photometric reports and their use in application engineering calculations. With each of the institutes listed below, participants receive a course text binder which becomes a valuable reference source.

Photometric Reports and Lighting Calculations - This 3 day training course is geared toward those new to lighting, emphasizing the use of photometric data to assist in lighting application problems while providing an overview of basic lighting concepts. The three major types of photometric reports - Indoor, Roadway, and Floodlight are reviewed in detail. Institute participants then apply each photometric report type in the calculation of a lighting design application solution. This provides the participant a deeper knowledge of lighting calculations than simply learning and using a lighting program does not provide. The institute also reviews characteristics of principal light sources available today and elementary electrical terms. -People who would benefit from this course are: New Lighting Application Engineers, Engineers new to the lighting industry, Customer Service and Technical Support Representatives, Sales and Marketing Representatives, and others interested in learning about photometric reports and lighting calculations. -Groups hosted at a conference facility near ITL's Boulder, CO facility (Includes ITL Lab Tour) $5,370.00 total for 1 to 6 people $715.00 for each additional person over 6 people -Groups at Customer's Site $6,600.00 total for 1 to 6 people $500.00 for each additional person over 6 people -Individuals - $895.00 per person ITL cannot hold an institute for less than 6 people. For individuals who would like to attend, ITL maintains a list of people who are interested and when this list reaches 8 people, ITL will attempt to schedule an institute. Note, we wait until the list reaches 8 people since our past experience has shown that it is highly unlikely that 6 out of 6 people (from different companies) will be able to make an institute on the same date. Fundamentals of Photometry - This 4 day training course covers the technical aspects of photometric testing. Extensive coverage is given to the various forms of photometric data and the procedures necessary to test and reduce the raw data into final photometric reports for Indoor, Outdoor, and Floodlight luminaires. The institute also reviews the fundamental concepts and terms of illumination and electrical measurements as well as characteristics of contemporary light sources. Both traditional class instruction and *hands on laboratory instruction provides a thorough learning experience. -People who would benefit from this course are: Lighting Lab Supervisors and Technicians, Engineers, Optical Designers and others who want a more thorough understanding of photometry. -Groups hosted at a conference facility near ITL's Boulder, CO facility -(Includes hands on instruction in ITL's Laboratory) $6,570.00 total for 1 to 6 people $875.00 for each additional person over 6 people -Groups at Customer's Site $7,800.00 total for 1 to 6 people $600.00 for each additional person over 6 people *If customer has an ITL/OWL goniophotometer system and customer desires, ITL instructor will coordinate with customer's laboratory personnel for hands on laboratory instruction. -Individuals - $1,095.00 per person ITL cannot hold an institute for less than 6 people.
